Cloud: project provisioned in ~9s, table + REST write/read + email signup/login/wrong-password rejected passed 3/3 runs (~12s task). Email confirmation disabled via API for the test. Secondary: self-hosted Docker (v0.8.2) scored 8.6, all checks passed but edge-functions container unhealthy on our box.cloud free plan
Convex
3/3 runs: push functions, insert and query rows, arg validation, all OK in about 7-8s each (warm). The self-hosted Docker images on ghcr.io returned denied for anonymous pulls.self-hosted/OSS
Verdict
Both tools were tested on the same rubric (v0.1, 3 runs each), but in separate runs and possibly on different editions (see above). Overall: Supabase 9.2, Convex 8.7. Check the free-tier limits above against your project before choosing.
